'God and the New Atheists'

What's in the series?

Series presented by Dr Michael Poole, author of 'The New Atheism: ten arguments that don't hold water,' and a visiting research fellow in Science and Religion at King's College London.

(1) No need for God?

The New Atheists say that science has done away with any need for God. But how good are their arguments?

(2) Faith and Evidence

'Evidence by definition can't support faith. If you need evidence to support your religious beliefs, it isn't faith,' wrote one New Atheist recently. In this video Michael Poole talks about the claim that faith cannot have evidence.

(3) Non-arguments from the New Atheists

Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution appears to do away with the design argument for God. But does it? Michael Poole claims that it does not.

(4) The Design Argument

Geshur was a city-kingdom that formed an alliance with Israel in the time of king David. Archaeologists have recently discovered a stele (monumental stone) and the gateway of the city of Geshur from the 10th century BC - from the time of king David.
