The Hardest Choice

Part 20 of 'The Biggest Question: why does God allow suffering?'

What's in the series?      Previous: What Keeps You Going?

In this, the last video in this series, we ask, why does a good God let innocent children suffer? The suffering of children may be one of the hardest questions we ever face. It gives us a choice – we can choose whether or not to trust God’s goodness and love, even when we do not understand. This is not 'blind faith' – there are good reasons for us to believe in God’s reality, love and power. Part 20 of 'The Biggest Question: why does God allow suffering?' Introduced by BBC TV Songs of Praise presenter Diane Louise Jordan. With Eric Gaudion.

Test of Faith

‘Astronomy leads us to a unique event, a universe which was created out of nothing, and delicately balanced to provide exactly the conditions required to support life. In the absence of an absurdly improbable accident, the observations of modern science seem to suggest an underlying, one might say, supernatural plan.’
- Nobel Prize-winning scientist Arno Penzias
