GOD: new evidence

Real People

'Just Stories?' #21

What's in the series?      Previous: The Cyrus Cylinder      Next: Documentary

There are many different people in the Bible. We may think these are just characters made up by the Bible writers.

But in 2014, the Biblical Archaeology Review published an article that listed fifty people in the Bible whose existence has been confirmed by archaeology.  This includes enemy kings, like pharaohs Shoshenq, or Taharqa of Egypt. It also includes kings of Israel and of Judah like Ahab, Jeroboam, and David.

Three years later, the Biblical Archaeology Review published another article, confirming the reality of three more people in the Bible.

The Bible is not a collection of myths and legends. It is about real people, real history, and real events.

With Dr. Chris Sinkinson, lecturer in Old Testament and Apologetics at Moorlands college.
