Privacy Notice
From 25th May 2018, the law covering data protection changed. The new law is called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR is an EU-wide framework to protect your rights. It gives you new legal rights over the information organisations may hold about you.
Your rights under GDPR include (among others):
- the right of access to the information an organisation holds about you
- the right to object
- the right to correct the information, and
- the right to be forgotten
When you opt in to receive news from us, Focus will store your name, email address, and/or postal address, so we can send you our newsletter and other occasional mailings about what we are doing.
Focus will not sell your information to, or share your information with, any external organisation.
The email version of Focus's newsletter is sent out by an organisation called MailChimp. If you receive our newsletter by email, we share your name and email address (but no other information) with MailChimp, for the sole purpose of sending you this newsletter. MailChimp will never under any circumstance use your email address for anything else, or share it with anyone else. Every email you receive from us through MailChimp includes a one-click 'unsubscribe' link, to make it as easy as possible for you to stop receiving our newsletter.
In terms of GDPR, Focus is a 'Data Controller.' If you have questions or concerns about how Focus uses your data, please get in touch. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page, and are included on every email or print item we send out.
The lawful basis on which Focus stores information about you is that you have given your consent for us to do so. If you think this is not right, please let us know, and we will remove you from our database completely.
